This outline provides details of our BC Earthquake Catastrophe Plan
(CatPlan) for our policyholders. Should a major loss occur, we will
oversee and adjust your property claim, leaving you to focus on the
personal needs of your family and friends. Our extensive and dedicated
team of business partners will deal with our policyholders' claims
swiftly and efficiently.

CatPlan Program |

 The plan is based on our worst-case scenario: A major quake hits the BC coastline causing substantial damage to either the Vancouver area or Victoria area or both. All our earthquake resources are located away from the coast.
- Immediately following the quake, we will notify all our resources and they will put their plans into action.
- The emergency line will be activated to accept claim reports.
- Satellite telephones will be used to ensure communications are available.
- CatPlan adjusters dedicated to Sovereign claims will assemble in Calgary or Kelowna, depending on their home base.
- Once the authorities permit admittance, senior claims staff and the VP of Claims will go to Vancouver. Immediate access will be provided through our engineering firm, using their company aircraft.
The CatPlan will continue to be enhanced as new information and technology becomes available. |

1994, The Sovereign has provided a bursary in recognition of Superior
Achievement in the Insurance and Risk Programme at the University
of Calgary.
The 2006 Sovereign Award was presented to Stephanie Madgett
of Calgary on September 28.
