Specific provinces have regulations regarding the holders of "unclaimed property" (ie policy premium refunds or claims payments).

If the last known address was in one of these specified provinces, the holder must make reasonable efforts to locate and contact the rightful owners. If all efforts taken by the holders are unsuccessful then information on the unclaimed property will be made accessible to the public in order to facilitate its return to the owner.
